I have been an artist since I was a kid and I will die one - this is the way. 

 

I experience art as the inter-connection between reality and the subconscious expressed through imagination and symbolism. What inspires me is often not the human experience as it is - but as it feels. I work in symbols and metaphors - and some of these I have been compelled to repeat since my 20's.  My work is organic and figure based and ranges from black and white to almost fauvist color boldness.  I am unapologetically experimental in both technique and media. I cannot help myself, I need to allow myself constant change based on what I want to express at any given moment.

 

 Professionally speaking - I have done commissioned work and I have won various awards and ribbons - but rarely do I remember when and where and for what. Because for me the act of creation is always more about expression and connection than acknowledgment or praise. But maybe I should start keeping track.

I want to connect with people who connect with my work. And I realized in order to do that I have to put myself out there as I am - an artist making art.  Trying to live while making a living.
