Bestie Birthday Trip 2025

This year, the bestie and I went to Pittsburgh for our annual birthday trip. There was good company and great food at Ritual House and Altius. Pittsburgh is an open late close early kind of city, so we couldn't pack a gazillion things in per day, but what we did do was fun. I got to see some original puppets and sets from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and the insanity of Randyland. I have been thinking the last day about an art exhibit we experienced at a museum called The Mattress Factory. It was called Pleadies. Basically you sat in a huge and completely dark room until you started having visual hallucinations. My eyes started to see strange white floating smoke like galaxies that were moving either away from me or toward me. And there was a deep purple light that I am not sure if my eyes made or that was actually in the space.

I had a birthday cigar and a manhattan at a swanky little cigar bar on my birthday and brought home goodies and pins for my collection. I don't want to go back to regular life. I want to pretend I am fancy some more, but I only have a few more days off and need to do housework and prep for my return to work.

But tonight I am going to chill and not worry about all that. Tomorrow I will hit it hard. Tonight I am going to mourn the loss of vacation by slowly unpacking.
