I have been busy with a capital WTF. Yeah, I know none of those letters are in the word busy but I am making up my own rules.
I took a moment out of my work days to do a quick memorial portrait for a friend of a friend's dog. So now back to the color cube sketches. It's all going pretty slowly since work has been busy and all I do now is work.
I start night shift this Friday with a half day shift. I hope the transition is not too hard and that I get some relief of stress out of it and eventually get to come back to days after we get some people trained up. We lost another one....now we are down 6? And is there another with her foot out the door? Who knows. But it's been rough. We are all sufferin'.
That said, I recently discovered a new local deli through a friend with the most awesome Russian tea biscuits; seriously cravable pieces of heaven. Also, the bestie and I are going to a cocktail tasting sort of thing this weekend. As much as I don't really want to be seen in public as I am now, I think it will be fun to get out of the damn house and the basement where I work.
Things aren't really getting easier until the first of the year, so I am hoping that I can glean just a bit of energy and joy out of the few days I might get here and there. With luck I will come out of the other side of this better than I went in.
