For Christmas a friend requested a design for a wrestling singlet. December got insane, and though the designs ended up being finished, I haven't been able to translate them into actual fabric for use on the singlet. (Plus my order for the singlet placed over a month ago just got cancelled because of a website issue. Arg)
The fabric is ready to go for the next steps, but there has been a kink because said friend has not talked to me in weeks and may never again. Long story, many emotions.
But here is the thing - I have spent hours of time and not an insignificant amount of money trying to put designs together for him that would be meaningful and also look badass. They are specific to him and who he is as a person and a wrestler....EG the M in Kimera echoing the helmet and wings of a Polish Hussar. That is a design for him and nobody else and quite honestly I think it looks fab and I am very proud of the concept. I was saving the reveal for when I could give him the finish, but now I am afraid I may not get the chance.
I decided to make a b/w version and put it on a hoodie and try to send it to him. As a way of reaching out and as a way of just showing him that I care whether or not he chooses to speak to me again.
I did a practice run with the HTV vinyl on another hoodie and it was A+. But of course when I did it on the one I wanted to use as a gift - oops. Mess. But I cannot afford a new hoodie at the moment (financially speaking I am F'ed with a capital F) so this is my only choice at the moment.
I also got him a sleeveless black version that I was planning to do a fabric backsplash on as an entry look which I am going to attempt to get done this next few days.
Busy beaver all around. I need to sell of some possessions and art and get myself back out of a hole I dug for myself. lol
I laugh so I don't cry.
NOTE OF POSITIVITY: My studio has been clean and organized. My closets have been purged. My condo is coming together nicely, and auditions for the play are next week. A philosophical play about hell is just what I need to get my mind off of my own turmoil.
